The sun and heat strained down during Round 2 of NASA Pro Racing Northeast Series at New Jersey Motorsports Park Lightning Circuit on May 29th and May 30th.  But that didn’t stop Josh Koropchak from claiming podium finishes during the weekend.

Saturday morning’s qualifying session put Josh Koropchak in second place, however, due to technical issues with the racing series, he was forced to start from the back of the eleven car pack for Saturday’s afternoon race.  With the drop of the green flag, Koropchak stormed into pace attempting to reach the front of the class.  Crossing the finish line at the end of the 45-minute stint, Koropchak yielded a 3^rd place finish, landing him on the podium.

On race two Sunday, Koropchak found a fourth place start on the grid.  Unfortunately, after Koropchak chased his way to first place, the Volvo S60 race car began to suffer cooling issues.  In spite of this setback, Koropchak was still able to capture 3^rd place for TKi Motorsport.

“The season has started off well for TKi Motorsport and our Volvo S60,” said Koropchak.  “We are working extremely hard for the top position at the end of the season, and with perseverance we will prevail.”

“The weekend saw stellar performance from car, driver, and crew.  We are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with,” said Ricky Marrero, Team Strategist.

TKi Motorsport also hosted their first “Volvos at the Track” event in coordination with Swedespeed.com.  The event allowed Volvo owners free admission to the track, free food and beverages, free entrance in raffle with prizes from TKi, IPD, VolvoCountry.com, Swedespeed.com, and NJMP, and an exclusive tour of the TKi paddock.  The event concluded with Volvo parade laps on track with each participant donating ten dollars to charity.

“I had a really great time today at the track!  TKi did an amazing job at hosting the Volvo group at the event.  Josh is a great racer!” said Michael Farrell, participant in the Volvos at the Track event.

The TKi Motorsport Volvo S60 race car will appear at Pocono Raceway on July 16, July 17, and July 18.

On Sunday, April 25^th, TKi Motorsport appeared at the Volvo Northeast community’s annual Volvos at IKEA event in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.  Despite the damp weather, the meet was a success with over one hundred people in attendance.

On site, TKi Motorsport displayed their Volvo race car to the Volvo community for the first time.  Enthusiasts were able to sit in the race car for photographs, and talk in depth with the team.  TKi also hosted a free raffle for the attendees, which included various items from the Volvo Collection courtesy of VolvoCountry.com, t-shirts, stickers, and posters courtesy of IPD, and TKi prototype parts and team apparel.

“It’s fantastic that IKEA of Conshohocken, which happens to be the IKEA North American Headquarters, allows the Volvo community to host such an event at their location.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.  It was a great experience being able to share TKi’s enthusiasm for Volvos with the rest of the Volvo community” said Josh Koropchak, Team Principal.
