Excitement roared and champagne poured at Lime Rock Park, as TKi Motorsport commanded the NASA Pro Racing GTS3 class for 1st and 2nd place victories. Driver Josh Koropchak now leads the GTS3 driver’s championship.
Josh Koropchak was at the top of the time sheets and started in the front row for Friday’s race. After twenty-seven laps, Koropchak crossed the finish line in 2nd place for a podium finish.
“The Volvo did well in today’s race. Unfortunately part of the car’s ABS system failed, which slowed down our pace, but we are preparing for tomorrow,” said Chris Rhom, TKi Motorsport engineer.
As the fog dissipated early Saturday morning, Volvo enthusiasts from Swedespeed.com filled the paddock to show support for the Volvo marque. After set-up changes and a spectacular qualifying session, Koropchak established a pole position for Saturday’s race. Not only did Koropchak finish in 1st place in the race, he also set a new track record for the GTS3 class.
“The car performed flawlessly thanks to the crew. Our dedication to further the potential of the S60 has finally paid off with a victory. Being able to win in front of the Volvo fans put the icing on the cake,” said Josh Koropchak.
The next race weekend is September 4 and September 5 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
