TKi Motorsport driver and crew were on point for NASA Pro Racing Northeast Series Round 3 action at Pocono Raceway this past weekend. Charging their way to 2nd and 4th place finishes, TKi was able to collect more points in the hunt for the 2010 GTS3 Championship.
With the drop of the green for Saturday’s race, Koropchak beautifully launched the Volvo S60 Challenge race car from third place to first place in a matter of seconds. As he slowed cautiously for turn one on the opening lap, an out of class junior racer made contact with the #322 Volvo S60, causing the junior racer to spin, and forcing Koropchak off track. Inevitably falling to sixth place, Koropchak was able to regain two positions to cross the finish line in fourth place.
After a flawless qualifying session on Sunday, Koropchak started the race from pole position. With a safety car and restart on lap four, a battle ensued among first and second place. Koropchak crossed the finish in second place while also collecting valuable points. The TKi Motorsport Volvo and Josh Koropchak are currently second in the chase to the GTS3 Championship.
The next race weekend takes place at the historic Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut on August 13 and August 14. On August 14, TKi Motorsport will be hosting a Volvos at the Track meet in coordination with Swedespeed.com. Event includes Volvo parade laps and car corral, free raffle, paddock tour, and top-notch hospitality.
